Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: September 22, 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs use of the TrueLead email and phone number validation API, web dashboard, and related services (the "Service") provided by Sareli Labs S.A.S. ("TrueLead," "we," "us," or "our"). It is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service (the "Terms"). Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms. In the event of conflict, the Terms prevail except that this AUP prevails on acceptable-use matters.

Violation of this AUP may result in suspension or termination of your account, as described in the Terms and in Section 6 below.

1. Purpose

TrueLead exists to help businesses verify the quality of contact data they already hold. It is not a lead finder, scraper, or source of contact lists. This AUP protects our customers, the individuals whose data customers submit ("Submitted Data"), our infrastructure, and the broader email and telecommunications ecosystem. By using the Service, you agree to this AUP.

2. Prohibited Uses

You may not use the Service to:

2.1. Break the law. Engage in, facilitate, or encourage any activity that violates any applicable law, regulation, court order, or third-party right, in any jurisdiction.

2.2. Enable spam. Build, clean, validate, or enrich lists for sending unsolicited bulk email, SMS, or other messages in violation of applicable anti-spam, marketing, or telemarketing laws (see Section 5). Validation Results do not create consent or a lawful basis to contact anyone.

2.3. Submit data without lawful basis. Submit email addresses, phone numbers, or other personal data unless you have a valid lawful basis (including consent where required) to do so, as warranted in Section 6 of the Terms.

2.4. Validate unlawfully obtained lists. Submit or validate lists obtained by scraping, harvesting, crawling, dictionary attacks, or purchasing contact lists in violation of applicable law, website terms, or third-party rights.

2.5. Compete or resell. Resell, sublicense, rent, or redistribute the Service or Validation Results as a competing validation or data-enrichment service; provide the Service to third parties as a service bureau; or use the Service to develop a product or service that competes with TrueLead, without our prior written consent.

2.6. Reverse engineer. Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code, algorithms, validation logic, or underlying data of the Service, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by law.

2.7. Circumvent limits. Bypass, evade, or attempt to bypass rate limits, quotas, free-trial restrictions, authentication, billing controls, or other technical limitations — including by creating multiple accounts, rotating API Keys, or using automation designed to conceal usage.

2.8. Probe security. Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or any related system or network; breach or attempt to breach security or authentication measures; or access accounts, data, or systems you are not authorized to access.

2.9. Distribute malware. Upload, transmit, or distribute viruses, worms, Trojan horses, spyware, ransomware, or any other malicious code, or use the Service in connection with phishing, smishing, vishing, or fraud.

2.10. Infringe rights. Submit or process content that infringes or misappropriates intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights of any person.

2.11. Interfere with the Service. Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service, impose an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on our infrastructure, or interfere with other customers' use.

2.12. Misrepresent. Impersonate any person or entity, misrepresent your affiliation, or use the Service while suspended or after termination, including by creating replacement accounts.

3. Prohibited Data

You must not submit to the Service:

3.1. Special-category data. Data revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade-union membership, genetic or biometric data, health data, or data concerning a person's sex life or sexual orientation (as defined under GDPR Article 9, the LFPDPPP, or equivalent laws), nor criminal-offence data.

3.2. Children's data. Personal data of children under the age of 16 (or the applicable age of digital consent in the relevant jurisdiction), including data subject to COPPA.

3.3. Credentials and secrets. Passwords, authentication tokens, API keys, financial account credentials, government identification numbers, or any data whose exposure would create a heightened risk of harm.

3.4. Regulated data beyond the Service's purpose. Any data subject to specialized regimes (e.g., HIPAA-covered health information, GLBA financial data, PCI-DSS cardholder data) — the Service is designed to validate email addresses and phone numbers only.

3.5. If we reasonably believe you have submitted prohibited data, we may reject it, delete it, and/or suspend your account pending investigation.

4. API Usage Rules

4.1. Rate limits. API usage is subject to the rate limits, concurrency limits, and quotas associated with your Plan as described in the Documentation and pricing page. Do not attempt to exceed them; design your integration to handle rate-limit responses gracefully (e.g., with backoff).

4.2. Key security. Your API Keys are credentials. Keep them confidential; store them server-side and in secure configuration; never embed them in client-side code, mobile apps, public repositories, or support tickets. Rotate keys promptly if you suspect compromise, and revoke unused keys.

4.3. No key sharing. Do not share, sell, lend, or transfer your API Keys or account access to any third party, except to personnel and contractors of your organization who need access to use the Service on your behalf and are bound by obligations consistent with the Terms and this AUP. You are responsible for all activity under your keys.

4.4. Attribution of abuse. Abuse originating from your account or API Keys is treated as your conduct, whether or not authorized by you, so secure your credentials.

5. Anti-Spam and Marketing Compliance

5.1. Your responsibility. Validation Results indicate deliverability-related signals only. They do not establish consent, a lawful basis, or permission to email, text, or call any individual. You are solely responsible for your own marketing and outreach campaigns.

5.2. Required compliance. Any email, SMS, or calling campaign you conduct using contact data validated through the Service must comply with all applicable laws, including, as applicable:

  • the U.S. CAN-SPAM Act (accurate headers, no deceptive subject lines, functioning opt-out honored promptly, valid physical postal address, monitoring of third parties acting on your behalf);
  • the EU/UK GDPR and ePrivacy/PECR rules (lawful basis, consent or soft opt-in where required, objection rights);
  • Mexico's LFPDPPP and its regulations (privacy notice, consent, ARCO rights, and the REPEP/REUS do-not-call and do-not-email registries where applicable);
  • applicable telemarketing and calling laws for phone numbers, including do-not-call registry rules, calling-hour restrictions, and consent requirements for autodialed or prerecorded calls and SMS (e.g., TCPA in the United States); and
  • any other applicable marketing, consumer-protection, or telecommunications law in the jurisdictions you target.

5.3. Proof on request. We may ask you to demonstrate your lawful basis or consent mechanisms for specific Submitted Data (for example, in response to complaints), and you must cooperate promptly and in good faith.

5.4. No washed lists. Do not use the Service to "clean" purchased, scraped, or otherwise unlawfully obtained lists in an attempt to make unlawful outreach appear compliant.

6. Enforcement

6.1. Monitoring. We may monitor use of the Service for compliance with this AUP, including automated abuse detection (e.g., anomalous traffic patterns, complaint rates, multiple trial accounts). We do not routinely inspect the content of Submitted Data, but may review it where we reasonably suspect a violation of this AUP or the law.

6.2. Actions. If we determine, in our reasonable judgment, that you have violated this AUP, we may take any proportionate action, including: warning you; rejecting, rate-limiting, or deleting specific Submitted Data; suspending API access or your account (with or without prior notice where urgency requires, e.g., active abuse or legal risk); terminating your account and the Terms; and/or removing associated data as described in the Privacy Policy and Data Processing Agreement.

6.3. No refund for violations. Suspension or termination due to violation of this AUP does not entitle you to any refund, except as required by law or stated in our Refund and Cancellation Policy.

6.4. Reporting to authorities. We may report suspected unlawful activity to law enforcement, regulators, anti-spam organizations, or network operators, and may preserve and disclose relevant data where required or permitted by law, as described in the Privacy Policy.

6.5. Repeat violators. We maintain a zero-tolerance approach to repeat abuse: accounts terminated for AUP violations may be permanently banned from the Service.

7. Reporting Abuse

If you become aware of any violation of this AUP — including abuse originating from a TrueLead customer or unsolicited messages linked to use of the Service — please report it to:

Email: hola@trueleadapp.com

Please include the relevant email addresses, phone numbers, message headers, or other evidence. We review all good-faith reports and will act as appropriate, but we cannot always disclose the outcome due to privacy obligations.

8. Changes to This AUP

We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be announced in accordance with Section 15 of the Terms (at least 30 days' notice by email or dashboard notice), and the "Last updated" date above will be revised. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated AUP.
